Debbie Frempong is a third-year PhD student in Anthropology at Brown University.

Carolyn M. Jones Medine is a Professor in the Religion Department and a Professor in and the Director of the Institute for African American Studies at the University of Georgia. Working in the area of Arts, Literature, and Religion, she writes about African American women’s literature and theory, African American Buddhists, and southern writers. 

Lívia Sant’Anna Vaz é Procuradora do Ministério Público do Estado da Bahia, desde 2004. Uma Mestre em Direito Público pela Universidade Federal da Bahia e iss Doutoranda em Ciências Jurídicas e Políticas pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa.

Lívia Sant’Anna Vaz has been a Public Prosecutor for the State of Bahia since 2004. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Law from the Federal University of Bahia and is a PhD student in Legal and Political Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Beverly R. Wallace is an ordained Lutheran clergywoman and Associate Professor of Congregation and Community Care at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is author of “Hush No More: Constructing an African American Lutheran Womanist Ethic” in Mary Streufert’s Transformative Lutheran Theology: Feminist, Womanist, Mujerista Perspectives; is co-author of the book African American Grief; and is a contributor to “Luther’s Small Catechism with African Descent Reflections.” Her therapy training includes the “Community Resiliency Model” (CRM) as well as the Association of Black Psychologists’ “Emotional Emancipation” model, both of which focus on healing trauma.
